Listen to Parenting Radio Shows

Many of you may not know that I had a radio show for a couple of years.  Parenting was always a hot topic and I invited guests on my show who had written books on the subject.

I hope you enjoy them!  Please email me any questions you may have at drninalpc@aol.com I would be happy to answer you!

Radio Shows:

  • Parenting with Love and Logic

How to overcome power struggles with your child  - Guest Dr. Cline, author of "Love & Logic"

  • Transitioning to Teen Years

Parenting Your Child as they transition to the teen years - Guest Dr. Steede, author of "10 most Common Mistakes Good Parents Make"

  • Childhood Obesity

How to prevent your child from being part of this statistic - Guest  Dr. Ashworth, author of "Defeating the Childhood Obesity Epidemic"

One of the common themes you will hear about parenting or hearing them from my past TV and radio shows are the following:

1. Be consistent

2. Have consequences

3. Keep structure in the family

4. Know your parenting boundaries

5. Spend quality time with your children

One of the underlying themes, Dr. Cline addresses is the importance of remaining calm and not letting your child's anxiety effect you.  You do this by giving them choices and consequences.  Take the burden off of you and put it on them. This will change those negative feelings you are experiencing.  We all have to modify our parenting style depending on our child.  Following the basic guidelines mentioned above will definitely help.  If you find yourself anxious and stressed often, then this is a sign that you may want to look at things you can do differently.  You will be amazed at the results!
