Emilie Sherrod

Em married her high-school sweetheart one week after graduating from nursing school.  Three years later she was divorced and living alone in a big city.   Through her ex-husband she was blessed to meet her current husband and life-mate, Tim.  Tim and Em were married in November 1994.  In December 1995 they became the proud parents of identical twin boys.  Em was the luckiest girl in the world. Married to the man of her dreams and the mother of identical twins!  However, her luck turned to   tragedy when her sons were diagnosed with Autism at age two. 

Em began to research the condition and search for treatment options.  She found no one to guide her and little support in her unique situation.  She became hopeless, isolated and depressed.  Em relied on her faith in God to carry her through this seemingly unending difficult life for her family.

Em is a wife, mother, and registered nurse of twenty years.   She lives in Wichita Falls, Texas with her husband, Tim.  Em attributes her survival through tough times to complete submission to God’s will, not her own.
